Her story began in Armenia where she graduated Dental School before relocating to the United States. While working and pursuing a career in dental field, amazingly it was dentistry that lead her to flowers. She found herself drawn to the bright floral arrangements that arrived at the office regularly. Each week she would redesign the flowers to suit her personal taste which allowed her to experiment and explore her newfound interest without being bound by rules or restrictions. Looking at each design from an artists perspective her creations took on a sculptural style. Inspired by the thought that she had something creative to offer to floral industry, she became flower obsessed picking up blooms wherever she could on an endless search for floral education.  Her first trip to her local wholesaler sealed her fate when she fell head over heals in love with floristry. Almost immediately Anahit began competing at a local level and quickly became a respected name in the floral world collecting numerous awards and accolades for her unique designs, attention to detail and meticulous mechanics.

Shortly after, to broaden her design skills and knowledge, she started taking classes from industry's leading design educators such as Hitomi Gilliam, Phil Rulloda, Sarah Horne, Tomas De Beuyne and many more. She also assisted may leading designers during various functions and events such as David Beahm, Neil Whittaker, Bill Schaffer and Kristine Kratt, Hitomi Gilliam, Jerome Raska, Rene Van Rems, Francoise Weeks, Mandy Majerik, Sarah Campbell... and the list goes on. In 2015 Anahit established her company Viva La Flora LLC. In early 2015 she began offering a series of workshops sharing her artistic floral techniques to designers eager to add new life to their work.  Her workshops are upbeat, edgy and always pushing the limits of traditional floristry allowing for unparalleled creativity. In February of 2016 she founded 411Floral, a social media platform, that allows all industry professionals to share and find floral events all in one place.

“…Every floral design is a work of art. I like to think of me as an artist who is painting or sculpting when I’m designing. My love and passion for art, architecture, fashion, music and dance keeps me inspired and motivated to always think outside of the box in creating my own Floral Work of Art. My dental background keeps me grounded while giving me the ability to think fast and logistically, as a result I keep coming up with more efficient ways of doing things. I truly love designing and learning new techniques, even more I love teaching and helping others grow their design skills.”
